Common Questions

Answers for CBRS radio owners during and after the transition.

How long will my CBRS radios keep working?

Legacy CBRS radios continued to operate and earn rewards through February 28, 2025. After that date, CBRS support on the Sherwood Network was retired and radios no longer earn rewards. The hardware itself will still power on, but it no longer participates in the network.

What should I do with my CBRS radio after March 1st, 2025?

No action is required from a network standpoint — the radio is simply retired. If you want to keep contributing to coverage, a current-generation Sherwood Hotspot (Kestrel K1 or K2 indoor, Meridian M1 or Northwind N1 outdoor) is the recommended path forward.

Will I be charged SAS fees now that the program has ended?

No. Once the sunset date passed, SAS subscriptions for legacy CBRS radios were discontinued. If you see an unexpected SAS charge, reach out to support and we will help you sort it out.

Does my legacy Kestrel CBRS gateway keep working after the shutdown?

Yes. Your legacy Kestrel gateway continues to operate as a fully functional Sherwood Hotspot for IoT and Wi-Fi coverage. Only the CBRS radio side was sunset; the gateway itself remains part of the network.

Which radios were eligible for the Trade-Up program?

The program covered CBRS radios purchased from Kestrel and other approved vendors participating in SIP 139. Because the program has ended, new trade-up requests are no longer being accepted.

When will my trade-up Hotspot ship?

Trade-up orders placed before the program closed are being fulfilled in the order they were received. You can check your order status in the Sherwood Console, or contact support with your order number for a specific estimate.
